The premiere of Eclipse is a little over a month and a half away, and to channel that excitement, I am knitting my very own pair of Eclipse socks! I am going to knit the plain socks and then go back in and use duplicate stitch to add the ribbon and the “I love Edward” as opposed to using festival knitting like I did in my first pair when I knit them for a co-worker. Additionally, I am using the magic loop method to avoid laddering (which I always get while I’m knitting socks for some reason on DPNs).

I am hoping to get these done quickly so I can 1) rock these while I work for the midnight show of Eclipse 2) Use up another batch of sock yarn; therefore allowing me to go on a yarn shopping spree.

5/09: Cast on these while watching baseball. In a few hours, I finished the cuff and got 5 rows into the main part of the sock.

5/29: Finished knitting the first sock, and I am duplicate stitching the ribbon onto it. I’m running dangerously low on red yarn (I used the same skein to make another pair of eclipse socks, plus one more but it came out the wrong size) so construction on the second sock is stalled until I get my order in from Knit Picks.

6/2: Finished sock one and started sock number 2! I really had to step it up because my sock yarn got here today and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. :)

6/8: Woo finished second sock! I couldn’t believe how fast I turned this sock out; usually I suffer pretty badly from SSS (Second Sock Syndrome). I guess a box of newly purchased yarn can be really good motivation.
