I’ve been wanting to attempt these swirly mittens for as long as I’ve been on Ravelry. When I finally wanted to try them though, i found that the website only really had the chart only and didn’t have a pattern. That scared me a little bit because I had only made one set of mittens before, so I searched diligently for a blank pattern so I just could add the swirly chart in and then follow a pattern. Which brings us to now..

I am currently on the second mitten, just finishing up on the thumb gusset.

Finally finished in June! These were taking up my only size 1.5 DPNs, which is the perfect size needle for socks that fit my feet, so even though its not mitten weather, I soldiered through and got these suckers done.

One final note, I made lots of mistakes on these when I was knitting on the palm side of BOTH mittens. I was considering just duplicate stitching over the mistakes, but they remind me of good times (like when I was knitting while relaxing with my boyfriend, who lives in another country, and I wasn’t paying full attention to my chart because I was just so damn happy I was next to him). That was the mitten on the right, and the left, I just wasn’t paying attention while watching LOST (less of a romantic story, but I love that show).
