Notes

These scrumbles in knitting and crochet are surrounded by a crochet border and positioned on a background of homemade felt. I have embellished the heart with beads, surface stitchery and buttons from my daughters’ dressing gowns when they were wee…..the younger will be 40 this year. (I don’t throw much out!) I have stuffed part of the heart to give it a 3D effect.

1st. February: went to Falkland Centre for Stewardship and heard about The Inside Out Woolly Tree and my heart will be part of it! (I shall also contribute some knitted and crochet pieces as well as some garlands.)

2nd. March: I finished the second and third “whatever they are” (the first one is red) which will be part of the exposed roots of the tree. The longest is 2.38m!
28th. March: more roots made……enjoying this.
30th. March: made this cushion for under the Woolly Tree.
7th. April: today was an Open Day to promote the newly refurbished Stables and I manned the table for the Woolly Tree - had lots of interest!

5th. June: I have made Cyril using a pattern…..well this was much harder than freeforming!!!
13th. June: Here is the amount of “bark” we have made so far and we are now deciding which tree to decorate.
23rd. June: Decoration has begun.
8th. July: Just in case anyone misses the tree, I made some bunting!
9th. July: Cedric (the snake) is also joining in the Festival.
21st. July: The Big Tent was brilliant and our tent (promoting spinning, knitting, crochet, needlefelting and natural dyeing)was well supported! Folks had picnics under the tree and it was well hugged.
September: The Woolly Tree is featured in the Fall Edition of crochetsavvy.com (American online magazine). http://www.magcloud.com/webviewer/439422
October: I see The Centre for Stewarship has used an image of my heart on The Woolly Tree to advertise a class!
