4mm needles seem like giant chopsticks after knitting socks for so long lol.

June 9: Swatching! I never swatch but this top looks both wide and short and I want to get it right. Contemplating adding an additional blue + white stripe for more length… First time ever making a project with the recommended yarn, swatch looks just about perfect but will be good and block it as well.

June 10: Hate casting on! Ran out of ran at around 100 stitches, doubled and got the right amount. Knit a round before realising that I’d cast on the wrong colour haha. Let’s call it a stylistic decision :D.

June 30: Have added an extra repeat of both lace sections, I really just can’t tell how long this guy is going to be. In hindsight, what I would do next time is start with the lace section in front, knit up, separate then knit the back, join at the bottom of the triangle then join the entire piece back together to start knitting in the round. That way I’d be able to try it on and stop when I was happy with the length.

Right now just finished the 2nd balls of both colours and have only just hit the join… Will I make it?!

Aug 11: Bringing this project out of hibernation! Have finally finished the front and tried it on for the first time… FITS!! Hahaha. I’d been thinking for ages that it was too long but it’s really quite right with the extra repeats. Running low on the white but should just make it. Worst case, the i-cords can be done in blue.
