Cast on! Super cute looking pattern and my first colourwork project in ages. Using entirely inappropriate wool for a baby knit, but this stuff has been in my stash for ages and need to use it up!

Sleeves are complete! The instructions on how to attach were a little confusing for me, I ended up looking at a few photos in other projects before I understood how to align the extra stitches.
Onto the raglan decreases! Substituting SSKi in, because I don’t love the twist in SSK.

Starting the shaping for the neck now! Bit awkward wrangling the sleeves and body with the circular needles but quickly got the hang of it. Made a redecision not to continue the pattern too near the ragline decreases and lowkey regret it hmm. Going to make that the back haha.

Knitting done! Weaving in countless ends, undid a bit of the last row of colourwork, if I did it again I’d be a lot more conservative about the dots placement.
Underarms and collar stitching left to goooooo.

Completed the collar last night and weaved in all of the stitches.
I CAN’T GET IT OVER HER HEAD.
Ended up frogging all the way back to neckline shaping as I wasn’t the biggest fan, needed something super stretchy so just ended up doing a basic boat neck with 3 rows of ribbing and stretchy BO.
Overall modifications:
- Tubular cast on
- Sleeves knit TAAT
- No BO neckline shaping, continued with ragline decreases until neckline was 64 stitches then basic rib collar and stretchy BO to end
6-12 months fits this 5 month old perfectly haha. My tension as always is entirely too tight! I’d go up a needle size next time to compensate, lets see what it fits like after blocking, I’m hoping for some of the tension around the arms especially to ease.

I couldn’t help myself, hated the boat neck, the stretchy BO I’m never happy with especially with ribbing and it was rolling down when it was on.
Frogged back again, 2 rows of ribbing with tubular cast off (VERY loosely), and infinitely happier with the results.
BLOCKING!
