To complete the newborn outfit with the newborn vertebrae and the striped booties.
I’ve knitted this beanie before (presumably in the right gauge) in 3.25mm needles. I can’t find any 3.5mm dpns (not in the tight timeline) so using 3.75mm which seems to be spot on for gauge.,I am clearly not consistent.
So I’ve had to start again as my gauge when knitting the hat is different to trial swatches.

I could have had this project finished twice already but I’m ripping back to row 16 because I’ve found faults. Extra stitches somehow stuck in along the way (no idea!) and unsatisfactory handling of the stripe jogs. It’s going to annoy me if I don’t fix it. Of all the blue baby stuff I’m making at the moment this is the easiest and I’ve used this pattern before with no dramas. Inattention on my part I guess.

Paid more attention. Finished knitting. Now to tidy up the ends ( the problem with doing stripes) and sew on the i-cord on top.

All done! I’m not sure if it isn’t a bit big. I’m told the little bloke (not yet born) has a big head. At least he can grow into the beanie if it is big. Better than too small
