I have a new electric trike with a big wire basket on the back that my senior dog rides in. He already has a comfy cushion in the bottom of the basket. I thought I could make something for the front edge of the basket for when he wants to rest his head there. So chanelling my grandmother’s car rugs of the 1950s and 60s (before car heaters) I made a double strip of squares of various bright colours of cheap acrylic yarn in my stash. I edged them, attached little chain cords for tying onto the basket. So far so good. Decided to put extra padding on the strip along the basket edge where the fold goes. Found a small amount of toning multi coloured yarn in stash and crocheted a strip 4 rows wide and sewed it to the wrong side. I put another tie in the middle.
The whole thing isnt perfect by a long way but maybe it will work.
