I’m to be a great-great-aunt again. Keeping up the tradition, having made something for the new mother’s 2 sisters’ children, I’m knitting again. This time I know it’s a boy. I don’t usually care to stick to gender stereotypes when it comes to baby colours but my late mother-in-law (who would have been g-g-nanna to the new arrival) liked to knit at least an appropriately coloured pair of booties.
I happen to have blue yarn in my stash. Love blue.
So I’m starting with this well used pattern for booties. No longer available online so it’s good that I’ve found at least 2 copies of the pattern printed out already. Knitted all in one. No seams, just some tidying up. And no fiddly ribbons or ties for new parents.
The pattern is made for 2 colours but I’m going to use 3. Should have enough over for a hat and maybe cardigan.
I have an approximate due date. No time to waste.
