Pattern worked out ok, though the cotton is heavier and bulkier than I imagined it would be.

Most interesting thing: the yarn I used was probably quite old, certainly no longer in production. Structurally seemed fine, but when I went to block it, mysterious blue streaks (see picture) appeared upon drying. Some kind of oxidation of the dye??? Blends in sufficiently with the dye color that this is not a total loss, but very unexpected. Seemed to be necessary to set the dye using a mild vinegar bath. Only I forgot that I had just sewed on shell buttons. Shell and vinegar do not get along, so the buttons are a bit etched now. So… no exactly how I expected it to turn out. But… ok?
