Notes

This cowl uses three colors of sportweight yarn. I knit the sample in Harrisville Designs flyWHEEL - Driftwood (ribbing and stripes - Color A), Monarch (stripes and lace - Color B), and Elm (stripes - Color C).

The pattern provides instructions for two options - a longer cowl with three lace bands (shown in photos) and a shorter cowl with two lace bands. Here’s the yardage needed for each:

Longer Cowl with Three Lace Bands
Color A - 205 yards/188m (2 skeins flyWHEEL in Driftwood)
Color B - 215 yards/197m (2 skeins flyWHEEL in Monarch)
Color C - 60 yards/55m (1 skein flyWHEEL in Elm)

Shorter Cowl with Two Lace Bands
Color A - 170 yards/155m (1 skein flyWHEEL in Driftwood. You may wish to buy a second skein as insurance - if your gauge is looser than the pattern gauge you may need it.)
Color B - 130 yards/119m (1 skein flyWHEEL in Monarch)
Color C - 45 yards/42 m (1 skein flyWHEEL in Elm)
