Using “Brimming” pattern I Cast on 130 stitches.
R.1-4; Ktbl, P 1 around
R.5; K2, Kobe = 173 st.
Remaining “under” brim, use Parallel Lines pattern just putting slip stitch in where I wanted them.
R. 6: (P10, Sl 1, P15, Sl 1, P 10, S1wyib, S1wyif, K1, (3 times), P15, S1, P10, S1wyib, S1 whiff, P1 (5 times), P15, S1, P10, S1, P20,, S1wyib, S1wyif, P1, (3 times), P16, S1, P13,, S1, P2.
R.7: same as 6 except K instead of P.
R. 8: same as 6 except K slipped st.
R. 9: (gray) same as row 7.
R. 10: same as row 6.
R. 11 - 14: (pink) same as row 7 - 10
R. 15: increase 1 every 12 or so stitches = 185 st.
28 total bottom brim rows (ridges only).
17 rows stockinette in gray. (About halfway through I decreased 12 stitches.)
At end of brim, K2, K2tog around.
Began Slip stitches of Parallel lines pattern. I tried to match up these slip stitches with the brim slip stitches. It’s not perfect because of fewer stitches but I think it looks okay.
After stripes, K 5 rows in gray then do an increase row: K7, inc. 1, = 150 st. K 35 rounds even.
Began crown decreases as Brimming pattern but because of more stitches (with Sport Weight yarn instead of Worsted weight as in pattern) I began crown deceases with K13, K2tog. Next decrease: K6, K2tog, K12, K2tog. Continue with pattern instructions only with larger amount of stitches.
