Using leftover yarn from my Solaris Shawl I decided to make a matching hat.
CO 84 stitches on size 6 needle and knit 2x2 rib for 1.75”.
Changing to size 7 needle I increased 6 stitches to 90 total and worked 4 ribs of garter stitch.
Worked 5 repeats of Solaris Shawl edge stitch over 15 stitch repeat. (K14,YO’s to make 7 st in 1) repeat around. Since I was knitting in the round instead of flat I had to rework the 4th row by (Purling 12, P2tog, P1, S1wyib, P1, P2tog tbl,) around.
After stripes knit 2 garter ridges before beginning decreases.

Knit
Continue doing these two rounds (knitting 1 less st each round) until 14 st. Thread yarn through and close hole.
