Notes

November 2018
I couldn’t resist purchasing Marie Wallin’s new range of colours. My friend bought the Sycamore Armwarmers kit and we both ditched all other projects to make them as soon as the wool arrived. They take 10 of the 12 colours but I have stacks left for another pair or two if I vary the colours to fit (N. has already made a second pair).
I love the wool! It’s soft and fuzzy and feels beautiful. Teensie bit scratchy to knit (my friend thought so but I didn’t), but not so hard as Spindrift (which I also love) and it does have a bloom, which gives it a soft, not crisp appearance to the colourwork (unlike Spindrift, which seems to be a comparable wool in my mind and I’ll play with combo projects).
Oh, and the kit came with 25cm circular needles, which I bought too. GREAT! They change everything about colourwork for sleeves. I Hate DPN’s in Fair Isle! Excellent!
Now back to the other projects, including my Thoroughbred, which was bogged down on DPN’s for the sleeves before I found the ease f mini circulars! Yay!
