I’ve never CO so quick after getting a pattern. Got Pompom with the mail, made a swatch the same night and then started the project the day after. Guess that’s what happens when you have yarn waiting for the right pattern to materialise.

When knitting in pieces - making this sweater uses a lot of purls, just saying… :)

Super cosy and the perfect go on a hike sweater.

Needles/Gauge:
Used smaller needles than pattern suggested - 5.5 mm gives 15 sts / 23 rows, good enough…
Used 6 mm needle for neckline BO.

Mods:
Made the sweather half a pattern repeat longer, i.e. rhombus pattern ends at same place but is shifted. Does not have negative effect on the end result.
CO 5 extra sts to each sleeve during the cable-CO.

Finish:
Not super happy with the shoulder/arm seams, the seam creates a little bump/ridge in the fabric. Would have been better to keep sts on thread and then make some kind of gather-sts-Kitchener-stitch solution.

Could have tried another kind of short rows to minimise the visibility of the turns.

Yarn:
My Aussie souvenir from last year. So squishy and a joy to knit with. Will probably pill somewhat as the yarn is very soft, but less pilling as it is 10 ply.

TonOfWool is slightly thinner than TOFT that I had the opportunity to feel on EYF2016. TOFT is sturdier but still very soft and squishy, maybe use for any other aran sweater.
