Every Fifth Grader in my district receives a tour of the art collection at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX courtesy of the Jean and Jerry Jones Foundation. Then the Fifth Grade students in every school create a work of art to be put on display at AT&T Stadium at the end of the school year. This year’s project fiber-based!
I’m teaching the students the art of freeform crochet for their collaborative project. Before I can teach it, I actually have to be able to do it myself! So I’m spending some time playing with different techniques!
Finished Project
The project is finished! For more details, see this Facebook post!
Note:
The Spiral File was mostly a waste of money. The instructions for the one and two color spiral were decent but the rest was vague. Mostly the pattern was a bunch of pictures which you can see from the advertising information for the pattern.
The Freeform Crochet class by Myra Woods was really, really useful though!
The kids finished the project just in time for the show. It was really impressive! They incorporated the sample teaching pieces as well as tons of others that they created.
