Notes

This received an Honorable Mention (Knitted Stole, Shawl, or Poncho) in 2010 State Fair of Texas!

Cast on 343 stitches (33 10-stitch repeats plus the 13 end stitches).

Section 1: 56 g (two repeats of chart A)
Section 2: 47 g (as written)

Based on my calculations at that point, I thought I would be 20g short of having enough yarn to do the pattern as written. Since each repeat of chart A seems to take about 28g, I thought I needed to lose at least one repeat of chart A. So I dropped one repeat of chart A from Section 1.

However, it turned out that I would have been FINE knitting the project as written. Since I had about 32g left after the final repeat in the pattern, I decided to throw in an extra one. I didn’t want to waste a bit of this yarn! I ended up with 25g left over.

Yardage used is a guestimate! Obviously my math was off somewhere!

I LOVE how this yarn worked with this pattern. It looks like rich, clay soil, with streaks of lighter and darker color in it. This pattern is very much worth the high price, because it really shows off the handspun!

Each row took me about 30-45 minutes to knit. (If you hate long rows, this one will kill you!)
