This is a creature of my own design. My daughter wanted a three-dimensional representation of “Smauglock” (a cross between the dragon Smaug and Sherlock, both of whom are Benedict Cumberbatch characters). She described him. I knitted him.

The result is one of the most huggable dragons ever! Everyone who sees him loves him.

I am working on a pattern for Smauglock. It’s currently being test-knitted. If you leave a comment here, I will let you know when the pattern is available.

I really need better pictures. Alas, I won’t be able to get them until late October!

I am proud to say that my Smauglock took First Place at the 2013 State Fair of Texas in the category of Toy from an Original Pattern.
