Blue ribbon winner in the 2017 State Fair of Texas in the Knitted Toy category!

So many people loved the first one and I bought twice as much yarn as I needed for the first one. I call that serendipity!

I know a brand new grandma-to-be that needs one for her house. So I know it will find a home!

When I knitted the first Vera, the head ended up being a little crooked on the body. To ensure that this doesn’t happen again, I added removable stitch markers in cast-off and cast on edges and for the center of each section. This should guarantee that I pick up stitches uniformly.

I also added removable stitch markers wherever purls were used so that can find them more easily.

Picked up two extra stitches under each arm and decreased the first and last stitches of those picked up on first row. I didn’t do that at first but it left huge holes under the arm.
