5/06/13 - its been a backburner, between knitty jaunts kinda project … baby showers and birthdays, what can I say?! I’m up to the body now having just moved the sleeve stitches to holders. I sadly said good-bye to my sage remedy top as it just was too short and unflattering so I am keen now to get this one ready to wear! Will I ever have a successful knit for me? Eeep! That’s two given away and one for the house only. And one on the needles as I fear it is a) too big and b) too itchy.
Good Friday 29/3/13 (written 2/4/13)
I cast this on whilst on the train from Newcastle to Hornsby. I wanted to start something special so that the memories of this momentous weekend would stick themselves to the garment and drench me in them when I eventually get to wear it. I was on my way to my bestfriend’s place for her wedding. Maid of Honour! Yippee! But I have bonus memories already. I spent the entire 2 hr ride chatting with a delightful Irish lady, Kathleen who told me her life story and her dreadful superstition with green. She never wears green and freaks out when others do. So my green yarn was kinda making her twitchy but we laughed and laughed. According to her superstition, which I doubt is 100% irish as they love wearing green, is that women with dark hair wear green when they are in mourning. Wearing it at other times is bad luck. Too bad! I love green and it looks great on me. Pity Kathleen was so scared because I would have said that green was her colour.
Now to the knitty-gritty. I only have done 3 rows because a)lots of chatting, b) 310 sts! and c) busy all weekend with the wedding. And now, I simply should be finishing off my Sage Remedy Top. Will update with pics soon hopefully. But boy, I am looking forward to clicking this off the needles and wearing it. It looks so feminine.
