Notes

A friend with a hot water bottle was getting married, inspiring this pattern.

5 Mar swatching, tried Stitchionary Vol. 1 #128 Eternal Flame, but settled on simple lace pattern inspired by point pattern from knitty’s Stitches in Time
6 Mar experimented with traveling single cables to create seam/decoration and extra decreases to balance out lace spread
8 Mar finished bridal side
9 Mar played with various tux constructions, e.g. all in one intarsia piece folded, but figured out 1x1 rib will create non-curling lapels and the angle of fold/rate of increase will be easier if the black is worked in 2 pieces and the white simply sewn in later
mid-Apr futzed with folded white collar, no good; just go with plain white edge and bowtie covering it
25 Apr was dead tired last two weeks from school stuff, overthought bowtie, but on birthday weekend quickly worked up simple bowtie/embroidered buttons and finished everything up
$11.45 total in yarn

  • learned how much easier the project and noting down instructions can go if you’ve swatched a lot and worked out many things beforehand
