Notes

6/26/17- Decided to start on Mom’s Christmas present early this year since I doubt that I will have time to work on it during the Fall semester.

I enjoyed the TAAT Toe-Up sock method that I decided to go with that again, and Frankenstein a pattern together from several sources.

I used Judy’s Magic Cast on to cast 12 stitches on the toes from the Vanilla sock pattern. Worked the toe in the KnitPicks Palette (received that yarn from a generous Redditor). Worked the toe increases up to 60 stitches and then switched over to the KnitPicks Stroll fingering.

Am using the slip-stitch pattern from here: http://www.dummies.com/crafts/knitting/knitting-projects/...
(Relevant bit:

Rounds 1 and 2: * K5, sl 1 pwise wyib , rep from to * around.

Round 3: Knit.

Rep rounds 1–3 for patt.)

over the first 30 stitches of each sock and then knitting the insole in stockinette.

7/5/2017-- Have made progress on the socks, they’re measuring about 5 inches long at this point and the 3 row pattern is very easy to remember. Makes for easy mindless knitting, but it produces a visually interesting sock.

11/12/17– I’ve been picking these up from time to time over the past few month. Finished the leg and cuff (2x2 ribbing). Started the afterthought heels, which thankfully go really quickly! Expecting to finish these within a week.

12/17/17– Ok so maybe a week was a little ambitious. I really drug my feet with weaving in ends on this one. After finishing knitting these sat on my kitchen table for probably 2 weeks where I would periodically pick them up and weave in a few ends at a time. Finally blocked them (and a few other projects) and now they are all packed up for Christmas!
