I decided to start the project in a slightly tighter gauge in the hope that fabric isn’t too drapey. Would probably have done the size 42” even if I was on gauge, but oh well. 5mm gauge was 17sts after blocking, 4.5mm gauge was 20sts after blocking.

I has cast on ten extra stitches in the front part of the cardigan (as my bust is the reason she would be picking the larger size) and also cast on a six extra stitches stitches underneath each the arm to give a little bit of extra room around the bosom. I decreased to the correct stitch count before the bottom lace - did waist shaping to get rid of the ones under arm, and did a few extra bust decreases to get rid of the front stitches.

The front bust darts were moved around slightly on one side - well, I just made sure they were both around 20 stitches in from the front.

Didn’t worry about the lace on the sleeves, wasn’t really a fan of the arm decreases but it was too late for me to fix it … I just wanted it done!

Oh, and i-cord neckline instead of ribbed, because I like it better. Sits much nicer and all that jazz.

Looking forward to getting some wear out of my dresses during the spring now I have a cropped cardi :)
