Have to modify the pattern since my gauge is totally off (as always):
Pattern: 17 sts/24 rows = 10 x 10 cm
my gauge: 26.5 sts/38.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm
Since this yarn is really thin, I am knitting with 4 strands held together.
Cast on 116 sts. K in 1x1 rib on 2.5 mm needle for 10 rows/approx. 2.5 cm. Change to 3 mm needle and K for 17.5 cm from bottom of cast-on edge before starting trinity pattern over the 6 central sts
2012/06/16: have knit up to approx. 26 cm. Not quite pleased with how this is turning out since my left edge is a little wobbly. Lace pattern is a little higher then the stockinette section. The yarn is really slippery and I have to take extra care not to let drop any stitches. It is quite rough on my poor index finger, but the gauge swatch I had knit and washed previously softened up quite nicely, so there is hope ;-) I am a bit anxious that the hem might be a bit to tight since there is not much stretch. Not quite sure if I should go on and see what it will be like after having finished and blocked the front part or if I shall frog the whole thing and start with a different pattern - maybe Kage after all?
2012/06/25: frogged. Had knit approx. half of the front, put it on waste yarn, washed and ironed it. Wasn’t happy with the way it looked since I knit the first half of the lacy section with a very loose gauge, with the result that the lace part was higher then the stockinette section. However, the difference in gauge showed too much AND I had doubts if the whole thing would be large enough to fit over my generous hips, I decided to frog it and knit a different pattern instead.
