adapted parts of the pattern “chrystal chandelier” I found in my stitch a day calendar to a 12-stitch-repeat for the edging since I fear that the original edging might be a bit too elaborate for my SIL’s taste.
Needle size:
3.25 mm for body. 4 mm for bind-off.
yarn & yarn usage:
Starting weight 102 gr
Weights for first half:
-26 gr for charts A, A2 and B
-4 gr for chart C and D
-6 gr for chart E and 8 repeats of F
-8 gr for border

Had 10 gr left after having bound off the 2nd half, so I used 92 grams in total.

The yarn is really, really nice. Soft, shiny, not splitty and blocks beautifully. Looking forward to knitting up my skein in treacle toffee. The colour is really hard to capture with my Ipad camera. It is called wine gum (no idea why), but to me, it looks more like a dark slightly tealish bottle green.

final verdict:
A really beautiful pattern. Not too difficult, but not that easy that you loose interest too quickly. I did get a bit bored by the end of the second half, though, but mainly because I was anxious to start another project from my queue. Took me an entire month to knit this - I didn’t touch anything else in the meantime… I also like my border, but in hindsight I should have made a little less of the mesh part and lengthened the border part a bit instead. Now I only hope my sister in law likes the colour, size and pattern. If not, I wouldn’t mind at all to keep it for myself :)
