28 Rows of Pattern called “CrissCross” from the Vogue Knitting Stitch-A-Day Calendar 2012 - Since there is an error in the chart, the pattern did not turn out as I wanted to - however, I realised the mistake only after having knitted approx. 7 rows and I did NOT want to frog the entire thing… So I muddled on and fortunately, the outcome doesn’t look half bad ;-)
Solid Section 2:
5 rows of stockinette
Lace Section 3:
same “Wannabe” CrissCross as lace section 2
Solid Section 3:
same as Solid Section 2, moving the stitches into the opposite direction.
Lace Section 4:
10 Rows of SSK, YO, then K for 1 row and then I bound off loosely using a 5 mm crochet hook.
Since the finished cowl looked quite tall, but not as long as I wanted it to be, when I blocked it I stretched it quite a lot lenghtwise. Preblocking size was 100 cm x 25 cm, size after blocking approx. 135 x 25 cm.
I used up nearly all of the 2 skeins, only 2 gr. of yarn remained.
Did I mention how much I LOVE this yarn? It has a very nice sheen, is warm but not too warm so that I can wear my cowl around the neck all day long and it is absolutely itch-free!!! Cannot actually decide whether the Smoke colourway is more of a brownish grey or a greyish brown, it changes the colour according to the light. I will definitely buy this yarn again, it is absolutely gorgeous and makes me want to purr every time I touch it ;-)
