Since I was just doing hats and mittens, I went down 2 needle sizes on the mittens so they’d be noticeably smaller than the hats.

The proportions of the hats are perfect. They are seriously so cute! I ended up with a large hole near the thumb on the mittens that I had to seam shut but on the one where I tried to pick up stitches to avoid the hole, I didn’t like the look it gave the thumb. So I just seamed the holes while I was sewing in ends and doing all the finishing.
