Summer is finally here, the jacarandas are blooming, and I finally found some nice fingering-weight yarn (on sale at birches, no less). Since 3 balls were of a different dye lot I have decided that they are fated to be different projects. This will hopefully be Mum’s Xmas prezzie; thinking about doing the picot edging with some leftover green sport-weight rayon to weight it down and give it some swish. So far I am loving the thinner yarn. Might even break down and make socks sometime (gasp!).

4 Dec - Shawl is finished and blocking. I am once again amazed at the difference blocking makes. All of a sudden it looks GORGEOUS :D Will try to get good pics, but I am cutting it close to the wire because Mum is coming to visit tomorrow and the plan is for her to take everyone’s prezzies down to CT, so I hope it dries and I get pics by then.

Dec 05 - Mum seems to like it :) She agreed with me about the jacarandas, and luckily she didn’t mind posing for photos in the rain half-an-hour before I had to go to work :P So yay, lovely photos of shawl-and-jacaranda-trees!
