Notes

I absolutely CANNOT say enough about how much I love Silk Rhapsody by Artyarns. These fingerless mitts are going to be absolute decadence for my hands. And paired with the Royale Smocking hat and the cowl I have in mind…wow, what a knockout set. Artyarns turns any project into stitching gold.

  • 3mm dpns…19 sts on first needle, 12 on second, 9 on third until thumb.

  • Worked 6 full pattern repeats before thumb.

  • After you are to transfer the 18 sts for the thumb onto scrap yarn and “make 4”, I only made 2 (using backward loop co) so that the ribbing will come out correctly.

  • Upon reading the instructions for the thumb, I realized that it might have a tendency to roll on itself. Plus it did not have any ribbing and I felt that it would look better with a bit of ribbing since the top and bottom of the glove is done with ribbing. Thumb: Transferred stitches to needles, picked up 4, knit to end. Knit one round to last 5 sts: ssk, k1, k2tog. Third round: k to last 4 sts: ssk, k2tog (18 sts). Fourth round: k1 p1 continue to end. Continue in rib for 2 rounds more. BO in rib.

Made these to coordinate with Royale Smocking Hat.
