1/25/12: Trying to make a last-minute gift for my brother, whose birthday is…TODAY!

I showed him this because I thought he’d be amused (especially by the magnetic aspect), and he practically demanded one for himself. I figure it would make a cool birthday gift (along with a gift card, so he can actually get something he’ll use more often). Out of amusement I am going to make him a prince also so he can have them out as a display

Yay, start to finish at work today :D

Another leftover, not yet recorded in my stash was used as well:

• Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn! Solids in Amethyst (from Emma’s Birthday gift)

Joined with slip stitch at color changes.

For magnets, I wasn’t near a JoAnn’s to check out the Darice ones suggested in the pattern. I picked up some Hobby Lobby brand 3/4” round ceramic magnets (8 for $1.99 or 50 for $6.99) and found that using 2 per nub worked quite well.

Again, more subdued in color. I didn’t want something obnoxiously bright for my brother though, plus I am trying to use up scraps not buy more yarn :3
