Part 3 of a 4 part baby gift set including a Kirby blanket, Tibbers plush, and Sonic booties.

My buddy Justin has asked me to make a gift set for one of his gaming buddies who is having his first kid in January. They frequently play various X-Box games together online, so I thought a baby controller would be awesome. You can’t start too young, right? I’m putting a rattle inside to encourage baby to move the controller around.

We have successfully hit Nintendo, PC, X-Box, and Sega/Playstation with this gift set n_n

1/19/15: I had a hard time getting the handle grips to look right, so I adjusted it to be crocheted flat. I just crocheted the white sections then edged it all in grey and seamed it like the bottom. It worked out pretty well.

I also did the joystick decrease rounds tbl and used the tale to secure the top and bottom. The D-pad was a sc circle (6 sc in mc, inc around). I surface slip stitched 5 across the center of the disc, ch1 1, and sl st back across the 5. I did the same with two stitches to each side of the center from the 5 sl st. The power button was also a sc disc (5sc in mc, inc around) with a green sl st edge and embroidered X.

For the rattle, I used the mini easter eggs filled with plastic beads and glued shut. I put one in each handle of the controller.
