Edit: I forgot to mention I used tunisian crochet for this project.
Using up all my bits and bobs of leftover yarn for this blanket. The fuzziness is from the Lionbrand fun fur yarn I’m carrying along with the other yarns (I had bought the fun fur for a different project, but frogged the other project because I didn’t like how it looked with the fun fur). I’m using a dark pink and light pink fun fur.
It’s amazingly hard to pick stash yarn for this blanket because there’s 150 yards left of some sock yarns that I delude myself into thinking I’ll one day make into a scarf or wrist warmers, when I have dozens of scarves and wrist warmers already. I’ve had to be ruthless and take all my leftover yarn and throw them into the pile without thinking too much about it.
I CO 66 stitches in hopes this will turn out to about 48” wide.
I’m using the 3-color method because I’m combining yarns to get a super bulky gauge (or slightly larger), but it’s not very exact, so the 3-color method is more forgiving for some rows being thicker than others. So far I’m happy with the thickness of the blanket and the flexibility.
1/12/2013: I had enough fun fur yarn and pink leftover yarns to make it big, so I decided to make it long enough to sleep comfortably under and extended it to about 70”. CO 66 stitches made it about 45” wide. It’s heavy but super warm because of the multiple strands of wool yarns and pretty (at least to me!).
1/15/2013: Finally got pictures up. I didn’t have a really large space to spread it out in my messy house, so you can’t see how wide or how long it is, but the pictures let you see the color pattern from the tunisian crochet.
