Want approx 30 x 40” finished size, so the starting chain needs to be (40-30) = 10”.

I chained about 14”, then worked back along the chain till approx 10”, then turned and worked the back side. I did NOT count the starting chain, so it is longer than I need. When done, I’ll unpick the extra starting chain and work that end in.

One skein won’t make a lapghan, so using up about 100 g of leftover cream One Pound as the center of this one.
