Wanted a little bit of luxury around my neck for my wedding… and a pattern written by a dear friend.

I didn’t have enough yarn to finish a complete wingspan, so instead I extended the increases section and then turned the corner and knit the border up the edge. Also added a button so it would fasten more as a shawlette.

I love the gentle swoop of this shawl, and the silk makes it a luxury.

This yarn is from a collective in India whose proceeds help employ battered women and give them a means to get out of their situation. In my wedding shawl I see it as a hope for happiness and future.
