I made some slight adjustments to the pattern (I wanted the opening on a short end not a long one):

Materials needed: Size “K” crochet hook
Chain 12
Skip 1st chain, SC 11, chain 1
on bottom side of chain, SC 11, chain 1
Work around all 24 stitches per row until tall enough to hold the soap bar (approx 18 rows)
On last row of SC, continue until half way across one side, then ch 2 and skip next 2 st, continue SC until half way across the other side (across from the buttonhole), Chain 16, SC back into the same stitch to make a loop. Continue SC until the end of the row.
Fasten off, weave in end.

Notes: Very easy, less than an hour total.
