My LYS is sponsoring a make along to get summer started. We can knit, sew, or crochet a summer top. As the world’s slowest knitter, I’m not sure I’ll be able to finish in five weeks but I’ll give it a try. The cast on date is April 24. I bought the yarn on April 19th and swatched it to make sure I got gauge. I also need to buy 3.25mm tips for my KP interchangeables since mine broke a while back.
Knitting the swatch was a revelation - Classic Elite’s Provence is GORGEOUS. Such nice colour and feel. The resulting fabric is firmer than I’m used to knitting with wool but I like it all the same.
April 24 - cast on at knit night! Knit the first 4 rows of the yoke
April 25 - finished the first 1 inch andswitched to larger needles. Stopped at 2nd repeat of yoke increase.
April 27 - first skein of yarn done after 9 repeats of yoke increase. So far it’s been very quick.
May 1 - moving along nicely! I had a slight issue with forgetting a yo but nothing too noticeable. Sleeves are separated and I’m moving into the body. Second skein almost over.
This project travelled across the pond for a one-week vacation in Paris, during which there was much knitting amidst all the wine-drinking and pastry-eating.
Cast off on May 17th. It fits very nicely but I could have made it at least one inch longer.
