Maisie wanted to wear this around her hair (much like the model in the original pattern photo), so I bought 2 skeins of Berocco Vintage to be sure I could make the cowl wide enough for this.

OOPS! Ha ha, well, I cast off today and my daughter put on the cowl and wondered why it was so large…(I had used a new, unfamiliar set of Denise circular interchangeable needles, and pulled out size 11 instead of 8). I only just realized the mistake, so Maisie wears the cowl doubled and we think it looks fantastic! Still, I will be more mindful next time I use these needles! BTW, I really love the Denise interchangeables…they worked up smooth and the cables don’t twist. Did not think I would like plastic knitting needles, but I am sold on these. Made in the USA too. OK, there’s my plug for Denise! Love this pattern, too!

Also, since I bought this yarn at a small shop, they didn’t have DK weight in the color Maisie wanted so I knit with worsted.
