6/14/14: Being a breast cancer survivor, after bilateral mastectomies without reconstruction it has proven impossible to find or adapt ready-made mannekins to match my new shape in order to fit my projects so, after extensive internet research, I found directions for making a Duct Tape Double.
My husband helped & was masterful in his suggestions & problem solving (how to make the stand, how to fix her rupture, how to fill her neck out…). His sense of humor had us both laughing and we had a good time conceiving, making & “delivering” Flatty.
We originally started this project prior to my second mastectomy while I still had the implant on the first side. After the second mastectomy & removal of the implant there was no chance of frogging this project so we started from scratch using our previous experience as a guide.
I don’t have a blog but I wanted to share my idea & solution with others who may have a problem finding a satisfactory body double.
