working the bottom border with dpn’s because they are shorter/easier than 32” circ. Planning on what many others used - 21 points on either side of the center border section.
10-5-14: 21 points done & bottom center 1/2 finished.
10-6-14: zipped my way through the bottom center border, all ready to start other half of bottom and realized the point was facing the wrong way!! Took me an hour to realize there was an errata (which I had printed out but didn’t look at) & had to rip out the whole section with no lifeline :( This time I put a lifeline in on the last row 15 before the center section start.
10-8-14: Bottom border done! Crochet done & picking up stitches to start body.
10/10/14: As I am working on this, I wonder how it would be if the edge bind-offs were worked as short rows instead of bind-offs and then the top border could be worked as a knitted on edge instead of separately and then sewed on or the stitiches picked up… hmmm. Something to try for the next one.
10/19/14: Body is done, leaving 8 sts at the top to BO.
10/22/14: Sewed the top border on (71 repeats).
10/23/14: Didn’t realize until the border was done, ends woven in and ready for wash/blocking that I should have centered the end points instead of lining them up with the bottom border :( Will try to remember that for the next one.
