I whipped up this belt to go with the Dungarees that go with the Alligator sweater. It was made from stash yarns that were leftovers. I crocheted up a gator head for the “buckle” including 1 buttonhole for fastening the belt.

To make the belt just cast on the number of stitches that will give you the proper width for the belt loops and then just garter stitch until you reach the desired length.

Crochet whatever animal head you want, add a button for one eye (beside the button hole) and sew the head to one end of the strip. Sew 3 or 4 buttons to the other end of the strip and it’s done!

The belt I made was made so that I folded it in half and sewed it up - depending on the yarn I don’t think I would do it again unless the yarn was a “flimsy” yarn. The belt is a little “heavy” but fits the loops perfectly.
