Notes

This is such a great pattern and a real pleasure to make. I used smaller needles and the smallest sized directions to come up with a sweater to fit a 6 month old. I knit the sweater in the round up to the arm holes and then knit the fronts and back separately. I also used a 3 needle bind off for the shoulders as well as placing the remaining back stitches on a holder to use when picking up for the collar - this means no raised seam at the back of the neck!
I used a teddy bear button to jazz up the bowtie and a white button at the top of the neck (to blend in and not detract from the bowtie) as well as navy buttons for the rest of the tux front. I also made a matching set of gov-eralls to complete the outfit. I tweaked a pair of booties that I found in “60 More Quick Baby Knits” to look like saddle shoes!
