Notes

I wanted to make a sweater where the reindeer was the star so I chose antique white as the background color. I also hate to sew seams so I modified it to be knit in the round.

As I was knitting in the round it was easier to knit the reindeers on the front as pockets - back and forth with 3 seed stitches on each side and 2 rows top and bottom for borders.

Instead of casting off the shoulder stitches I knit them in such a way as to use the Kitchener stitch to sew them together - makes for a much nicer seam.

Instead of casting off the back stitches at the neck I placed them on a stitch holder to use when knitting the shawl collar - this gets rid of that pesky neck seam.

I found the perfect reindeer buttons at Joann Fabrics.

Both sleeves were knit in the round - the only sewing necessary was setting the sleeves in, tacking down the shawl collar and sewing on the pockets (easier to do if you place a line of purl stitches where the bottom of the pocket is to be sewn).
