Notes

Finally casting on for socks I’ve been wanting to knit FOREVAH, but had to wait for some yarn that sings for me.
I’m using REgia for the first time, and I like that it’s a little rough. I have trouble maintaining a tight and even tension with the super slickery yarns.

I tried the Norwegian CO, but I was pulling my frackin hair out in less than 15 minutes. I will defer mastery of this new technique to a later date, and stick with tried and true (and fast) LTCO. Working on 2.25mm needles to reduce the size a bit, as I am not knitting these for a man, nor am I making knee socks.

Working the RT first, as it’s more fiddly for me.
12 rows ribbing
8 repeats in the leg
30 row heel flap
Switch to 1.75mm needles.
Turn heel down to 18 stitches, 17 gusset stitches.
10 repeats on the foot
Decrease EOR for 11 rows, then start decreasing every row down to 12 stitches. I didn’t pass the edge stitches over this time. I decided to try the graft 2 tog trick at each end. It looks much neater and is easier than the slip method.

7/12 I’m not loving the 2nd sock, as the twists are elongated and look poopy. I’ve worked 4 repeats, and I’m going to intersperse this knit with another project so I don’t get too bored.
