Cast on 135 st. With 3.75 mm needle and do 12 rows seed stitch with gray using smaller needle.
- switch to 4 mm needles and increase to 143 stitches. 30 inches wide.
- keep a border in gray of 8 seed stitches while I knit the inside as follows:
- knit 2 rows white, then do chart sideways.
- from the right, 5 st, turtle chart from hind flippers to nose, 4 st, then chart, 4 st then chart until 5 charts, then 6 plain st at the end.
- 18 rows of chart, then 2 rows white.
Start blanket stripes:
4 rows gray, 10 rows white
Turtle: The cousin has one with his blanket, so making another stuffy for this baby.
