2023 - gifted to Katie Wilson.
Worth every stitch and bobble!
This takes time and concentration, especially when making the increases, but soon becomes easier to memorize.
Named because the little arms remind me of T Rex arms, especially in a green sweater!
- started with L but that gave me a lot of ease on the sides so I ripped back to knit S before splitting for the fronts and back.
- knit 7 inches (Large) for fronts and backs before joining, as my sleeves will start closer to my shoulders and need to be larger and longer.
- pattern ends row 6 cable, 4 vine and 12 zigzag
When I joined, I added 10 cast on stitches each side. Added Vine pattern to the middle of the cast on stitches. 249 stitches total for body.
Sleeve - start 58 grams
First decrease at row 3 on 6th cable. 5 inches. Decrease every 8th row until 60 stitches then every 6 rows 3 times to 54 stitches.
After row 6 of the cable repeats start rib on smaller needles. 12 rows rib then tubular bindoff.
Pick up 128 st for buttonbands. 9 buttons on front, and 1 on neckband.
Neckband - only did 7 rows, not 9, before tubular bindoff.
Mods:
- twisted rib for the cuffs, hem, front bands and neckline.
- longer
- buttonholes were too big using the backwards loop cast on so I used a knitted cast on and did only 3 stitches, instead of 4 with a k2tog the following row.
My last skein was very blue compared to the rest. I alternated 3 skeins at the end of the body, but ran out of the greener yarn, so elected to do the front bands and the neckband with the bluish yarn. Calling it a design feature! Picked buttons (thanks Betsy) that were more blue than green to highlight this.
