Starting this beautiful shawl pattern. Looks like a good choice for working on in summer weather.

Started the 3rd repeat. This is fun. Intense tho. Not intuitive yet for what row comes next, BUT once I’m working on each particular row it is easier.
Watched Rachy in an episode of Kristy Glass (crochet in May episodes!) Rachy is adorable.

Alllllllllmost there. And repeat (maybe half a repeat?) in the Rochambeau.

Omgoodness does having the chart make a BIG difference in this shawl. Easy peasy lemon squeazey after the update included it.
Love the finished shawl. Gave it a swish and pinned it out. Love that it didn’t grow so much as it could have. I used the pins and rods to help it stay in place where I wanted it.
7.5 repeats.
4 colors.
… but just the tiniest bit of the prince william.
It needed to be in there. Promise. :)

The colors are just as I wanted after a bit of a scramble for the last color.
Ashy. A bit dirty. But, hopeful…?
Worn looking, and definitely not new.
Comforting.
This is for me. I don’t often keep what i make. Maybe one in 30+ projects? If even that. But this year two things are for me. And this is one of them. I need a bit of solace and pampering for (and from?) myself. In October of 2017 my much loved mother passed. And in November of 2018 the business that my mother and father built and we as a family have lovingly cared for for 46 years burnt to the ground. Completely. Its hard to talk about really. Nothing mom and dad touched and labored over is there anymore. It was like losing our parents, all over again. Its been a rough time. We are beginning to rebuild. Luckily that was never a question. And its been…well…tough.
We’re doing it as a family, as we always do.
And we’re doing it with Hope. Determination. Creativity. And so many days, with sheer Grit.
Things are coming along.
The name of this shawl rang right thru me, tho my take on the name was probably not the intention of the designer. ![:purple_heart: purple_heart](https://style-cdn.ravelrycache.com/images/twemoji/1f49c.png)
