Gauge 7 stitches per 1”

I’ve seen as many people say it’s too large, as say it’s too small, as say it’s the perfect size. So what’s a girl to do?
……..make a best guess I su-pose. I’m a loose knitter, therefore I’m using the smallest needle size recommended for my yarn. I like the fabric I’m getting. I am making the child/adult small and hoping for the best. I have three granddaughters this could fit, but I’m aiming for the 7 year old (middle one) because she’s all about pink and purple right now. But if it’s bigger or smaller than expected I can gift to a different granddaughter.
