Saw Kika display a coppery colored Salty Days (either in cotton or just suggested in cotton for a lighter summery version?) and I knew I wanted to make one. Here we go!
This yarn is DK but obviously won’t behave like wool and mohair, so I am unsure about what size to make. I am leaning towards size 8 needles, and making a medium, which will ultimately give me the measurements for a size small in this gauge. We shall see…

Ugh. Looking at zamotanapl rowan linen version, I’m now thinking I should have gone down a needle size for a tighter fabric. I met gauge and it’s a soft fabric, but now I’m wondering if I will like the looser knit. Decisions decisions… frog it or not?

Swatched size 7 and 6. Did the math and figured pattern size XL on size 7 needles would give me similar measurements to my first back yoke. Finished today and I am happier with the result. I know cotton grows while wearing, so I will frog the size 8 and continue on size 7.

well, i finished chart c, then realized i messed up the middle of the first diamond somehow, but being bunched up on the needles, i couldn’t see it. sigh. i spent about 2 hours trying to fix it. I unraveled down and tried to fix the stitches but it looked awful and the yarn overs looked way too stretched out. So I sadly resigned myself to tearing it out. I spent an hour putting in a lifeline and am putting this to hibernate in a project bag while I cast on a test knit that is due in 23 days.

This is on hold while I work on another test knit with a short deadline, but I did finish the body the other day and tried it on. I can’t wait to finish this!

Currently blocking. So glad it’s still sunny and warm (the last day forecasted!) to dry more quickly in the sun 
I will definitely make this again with wool, in maybe a dark color.
