Separated front and back. I can’t imagine there will be rowing out with this texture but I’m pretty nervous about it after the Stripe Hype fiasco.

I was making pretty steady progress and my brother and grandma came to visit when I only had to finish the last cable row on the body. This is not a sit and talk pattern. I messed up that cable round and tinked back the row at least 5 times over the last two days. Last night I stayed up after they went to bed to finish it and started the hem ribbing. sigh….

Didn’t bring on my road trip… didn’t think knitting cables on black yarn in the dark in a car would be a good idea, but finished the hem and am eager to get back home and finish the sleeves.

Finally picked this back up after traveling and starting my Magnolia Bloom. Picked up and knit several rounds of the sleeve before noticed I had the sweater inside out. Glad it was only an hour or so. Ripped it out and completed the first cable section again.

First sleeve finished a few days ago and I love it! I’m finishing my magnolia bloom tomorrow and will pick up stitches for the second sleeve on this baby tomorrow during the superbowl. Sweaters > Super Bowl

Finishing second sleeve. “Dec round 3” is redundant. Just knit in pattern with no decrease. Change “… SM, sssk…” to “k1tbl, SM, P1, SM (BOR).”
On both sleeves, I reached the count indicated in the pattern in the second round of “decrease round 2”

I finished it at 11:40 pm and rushed to block it before bed. I didn’t take any Preblock photos or measurements. Regretting that decision! This yarn grew immensely and I honestly may need to frog this one and knit on 2 size smaller needles. It’s super lacey and simply huge. I scrunched the stitches all up on my blocking mat, but we shall see when it’s dry. This is a case where a small gauge swatch did no justice to the weight of the final object.

Frog it or throw in the dryer? Grew a full 7 inches in length. Very floppy and sloppy. So bummed!

This was my magnum opus and I agonized over my yarn choice. In short, the Malabrigo Silky Merino I used was THE WRONG YARN CHOICE. This baby grew so much in blocking and crushed my heart. I decided I needed to frog it and find a more appropriate project for the yarn.
I haven’t been able to bring myself to frog it still after several months. My wounds are still too raw. So I’ve had it sitting on a shelf waiting to rip it out. BUT today, I wore it. It looks NOTHING like the Wishbone is intended to look. But it was a lovely spring day and I thought MAAAYBE I could wear it as a lacey, airy cabled sweater over a camisole, if I change my mindset. I folded the sleeves up inside themselves and folded the floppy collar down, and would you believe IT WORKED?
I ended up loving it and at least for now, I’ve put frogging it out of my mind. And Instagram showed me the #augustesummersweater by @kolibri.by_johanna and it kinda feels like it references that.
