I’ve been interested in using diagonals with different gradients in mosaic knitting.
The pink and blue sample shows that the different gradients make it possible to form pentagons. Regular pentagons cannot be tesselated by themselves. In this arrangement two sizes of diamonds are used to fill the spaces berween the pentagons.
The pink and plum swatch is another variation on pentagon tiling.
The other two samples give an idea of other effects that can be achieved by using different gradients.
