The 5mm needle was for cast-offs only. For the final cast-off I used the conventional method, but, to add stretchiness, I made a yarn-over every other stitch. This was then included in the passover.

To prevent the neck edge from being knitted too tightly I made a yarnover after the first stitch of each right side row, then dropped this on the return row.

For the short rows I did the wraps, but did not pick them up.

I managed the colour sequence a little, cutting out the very darkest sections of yarn.

In the last three repeat sections I made one increase instead of two at the neck edge. The aim was to make that end of the shawl less pointed.

All the yarns were from stash.

Our cat George was missing for eight weeks and returned a few days before these pictures were taken.
